About
Colin Scott
I am an applied social and behavioural scientist working at the intersection of psychology and political science. Much of my work focuses on intergroup relations, migration, civic engagement, and public opinion toward diversity. I am interested in political behaviour, Canadian and comparative politics, program evaluation, and the applications of behavioural science to public policy and public sector innovation.
Alongside my academic teaching and research, I also work as an applied research consultant, partnering with different governments, non-profits, and research groups in Canada and Latin America to support the development, monitoring, and evaluation of social interventions, programs, and services.
I am an Assistant Professor at Concordia University’s Department of Political Science and an Assistant Editor with the International Journal of Intercultural Relations. A C.V. and overview of my research program is available here.
Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada, I received my Ph.D in political science from McGill University (2021) and hold master's degrees in psychology (University of Guelph) and political science (Memorial University of Newfoundland). For a full list of my academic research, see my Google Scholar page or my C.V..
Apart from my research and teaching, I enjoy music, literature, and languages. I like to travel, hike, and camp, and I am passionate about Atlantic Canada - especially Newfoundland and Labrador.
